Triphala is one of the most recommended Ayurvedic formulation and has been used as a daily supplement for over 5,000 years to balance all three doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Triphala is translated as “Three Fruits” and is composed of dried and powdered amalaki, bibhitaki and haritaki. It is well-known for its gentle cleansing of the digestive system, improving peristalsis and cleansing ama (toxic wastes). Side Effects: Occasionally people will experience an initial worsening of symptoms as the toxins surface to be eliminated. With adequate warm fluids and recommended diet, this passes quickly.
